Emirate of Sharjah is fast becoming a cultural center, with many interesting museums and historical spots. The newest is Al Noor Island, situated on Khalid Lagoon, which has a butterfly park and literature pavilion.
A perfectly designed project covers 45,470 sq/m area; including landscaped areas and innovative architecture. At night all the artworks come to life with the LED light equipment illuminated this amazingly designed island. It’s a multi-sensory experience which looks absolutely amazing.
The main attraction is the butterfly house; an area estimated 500 butterflies, including the African Monarch, Autumn Leaf and the Rose swallow-tail butterfly. For those who are searching for a calm and refuge; this is one of the best places. The blossom-shaped Literature Pavilion is an open seating area bounded by light impressions of Arabic calligraphy and separated with cushions. There is a forest playground for little ones. Children can climb trees and run freely in outdoor natural surroundings.
At day time tickets are priced at Dh45 for adults and for children’s tickets are Dh25. At night time after 6 p.m. Prices are reduced. For adult tickets costing Dh30 and children’s tickets are Dh15.
The Island was officially launched by Ruler of Sharjah and His Highness Dr. Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasim. It’s now officially opened for public. Al Noor Island added up an another great attraction to the city for fascinating experience; including the scenic landscaped parks of Al Majaz Waterfront and the ferris wheel ‘Eye Of The Emirates’ at Al Qasba.
